At Creative Side | Jewelry Academy of Austin you can take your jewelry making skills to the next level. Our classes and workshops are taught by metal craftsmen and women ready to assist you in your artistic growth.The mission of the Creative Side Academy of Austin is to assist all those seeking to uncover their own creative skills. Our artist workshops and classes include many techniques in the jewelry making trade, allowing our students to try a little of everything and better identify their underlying passions and skills. If you need a creative outlet or are just wishing to gain new skills, you are in the right place with us.

Creative Side| Featured Classes

  • NEWAll Things PMC with Janise Simmons

    (Beginners-Advanced) July 30 (Fri) 10-6 pm Come explore the remarkable versatility of Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is composed of pure silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The material looks and works like clay when wet, but can also be worked dry to create different design effects. Once you have finished your design in PMC and the clay is fired in a kiln, your design emerges as a pure silver piece of jewelry! Explore the possibilities – charms, earrings, pendants, hollow beads, chain, three dimensional forms, vessels—the imagination is the limit! PMC is very simple to work with. Professional results can be achieved without the tools and expertise required in traditional jewelry making.
    Tuition: $200 (materials included)

  • OPEN STUDIOMetal Therapy Monday's

    Open Studio 6-9:30pm
    The studio is open every Monday from 6-9:30pm (students-$25 or $30-non students) Come practice your new techniques and work around other aspiring metal smiths. Kick your week off with a little creativity. (some experience required, this is not a class) We also now have 24/7 workshop spaces available to Austin jewelers, starting at $175/month. We are now registering for Summer 2010.
Sign up for classes like: Chasing and Repousse, precious metal clay, gem stone setting, overlay, 3D Forming, lost wax casting and carving, wire and tube riveting, enameling, & wire wrapping.

Creative Side will continue registration until right before the class begins, and turn away no one if possible. Please register as soon as possible to secure your spot.
