Copper Etching with Mike Binnion
(Beginners-Advanced) Nov. 28-29th (Sat- Sun), 1-6 pm
Learn simple and safe techniques for chemically etching copper and silver for fabrication, enameling, and embossing. This class covers various methods of ornamenting the metal including etching with hand drawn, stamped, and photo copied text and images. This two day workshop will cover many facets in the art of jewelry etching, including the chemistry of the process, technique, and how to create your own etching setup for use in your own studio. Students will be able to etch multiple copper plates, as well as their own silver works in progress.
