Creative Casting with April Wood

Saturday + Sunday, July 14 + 15, 10-4pm

Many natural objects and found plastic objects can be cast into metal using the traditional “lost wax” casting method. In this 2 day workshop students will bring in a variety of found objects that interest them and will then learn the basics of spruing, investing, burning out & casting molten metal using centrifugal casting. Strengthening/sealing the initial found object for molding as well as after casting cleanup and finishing will also be covered in this course.
