Soldering 101 (January) with Steve Kriechbaum

Saturday and Sunday, January 15-16, 10 am-5 pm

Come melt some metal! Soldering 101 will introduce you to the fun and free flowing world of soldering and applique. Learn techniques that are thousands of years old. Extinguish your fear of the flame and become confident and proficient with simple torch work. We will discuss different torches, as well as options of solders and flux. Learn the basic function of the torch, and all its components including setting up tanks, hoses, torch and tips. You will learn sweat soldering, pick soldering, and other techniques for joining silver, copper, and brass. Learn the basics needed to fabricate beautiful and unique jewelry. Discuss how to set up your own basic soldering bench at home with minimal tools and equipment. This class is essential to any beginning jeweler!
