Wax Casting Workshop with Courtney Gray
Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, 10 am-6 pm
Create your own 3 dimensional pieces in silver using the ancient process known as “lost wax casting”. Experienced jewelry artist and casting technician, Courtney Gray, will teach this essential technique of the jewelry trade. In the 2 day workshop you will design, layout, and carve a three dimensional piece in wax and then mold and cast your model in silver, bronze or gold using a centrifuge. Learn essential finishing techniques through sanding and polishing your cast pieces. Possibilities include rings, pendants, brooches, earrings and more. Discuss mold making, and how to get your pieces mass produced for wholesale market.
Tuition: $295 (Cost of silver casting grain is extra and will be determined by weight.)
