2 Day Wax Casting with Courtney Gray
(Beginners-Advanced) May 21-22 (Sat-Sun) 10-6pm.
Learn to create your own 3 dimensional pieces in silver. Work hands on with experienced artist and casting technician, Courtney Gray. Learn the ancient process known as “lost wax casting”. This is an essential medium of the jewelry trade with endless possibilities to be creative in your application of design. In this 2 day weekend workshop you will design, layout and carve a three dimensional piece in wax and then mold and cast your model in silver, bronze or gold using a centrifuge. Learn essential finishing techniques through sanding and polishing your cast pieces. Possibilities include rings, pendants, broaches, earrings and more. Discuss mold making, and how to get you pieces mass produced for wholesale market. Lab/ materials: $25 (silver casting grain is extra and determined by weight)
