Learn to create your own three-dimensional pieces in silver, gold or bronze. Learn the “lost wax casting” process. This ancient technique is an essential medium of the jewelry trade & allows for countless design possibilities. In this weekend workshop design, lay out, and carve a three dimensional piece in wax, mold and cast in your choice of metals (silver, gold, or bronze) using a centrifugal casting machine. Learn to how to sand, polish and apply finishing techniques. Projects include small to medium-sized pieces like rings and earrings. Also, discuss and demonstrate rubber mold-making, and how to get your pieces mass produced for wholesale /retail market.
